This firing pin set is for the current model J, K, L, N and X frame revolver using a frame mounted firing pin.

While not actually longer, the design allows the firing pin more travel and along with a lighter firing pin spring imparts more energy to the cartridge primer for more reliable ignition.

Not for use in Rimfire revolvers as it will ding chambers during dry fire.
